This is ~Kaledus's character, Darvon Mitsumura. There was a lot of description and direction given to me for this commission, from the angle of he stands at, to the position of his hands on the sword, so I hope i've managed to get it all in! He's a half-vampire, with no known parents, wielding 2 samurai swords; the swords of the dark cloud. He has a widespread personality, from kind and charismatic to malicious and intimidating. There was quite a lot more about this character described to me, but I hope from what I have written already, that I have managed to paint him accurately!
I was given the choice to choose between furcadia-style batwings or ones more similar to the wings of the dragon digo on furcadia. I knew i'd find the batwings more fun to paint, which would make them come out better. The wings, strangely, as I usually hate doing wings, are the best bit of this painting in my opinion. ...though i still need practice with wings as well!
For reference, if anyone is interested, I will not be taking Anthro commissions with backgrounds again. I still need a lot of practice. If you want to see my scenery paintings, visit ~Tawfynn

Well I'll be damned.. I haven't been checking up on my dA recently, so didn't know this was up until Kien finally mentioned it to me heh. I must say, I really like how the piece turned out. That includes all the very fine little details down to the very expression portrayed. You couldn't have made it any more picture perfect from my words.
The painting itself entirely rings of nobility and historical qualities which remind me of what you might find in similar books made by famous authors. I thank you for taking your time to complete this. Nothing has ever come this close to the actual realistic side of how Darvon might actually look like if he were a tangible person, and for that I am very grateful.
Awwh, I'm very very glad you like it! Don't worry about the late response haha! I'm very glad you think I have his character down as well. That's always important.
I like the colours you used on the black in the trousers, and I like the creases there too :I I do actually quite like the markings of the wings too; It's a bit like a cute cow bat.
Is that barbed wire around his chest or am I just imagining things?
